How to connect two computers in one landline cable?
Would you like to set up an internet connection two computing devices via one landline? Get step by step guidance on how to set it up.
I have a land line with broadband connection. I am using a modem for my internet connection for my own computer. Now my son also wants to operate a laptop with the same connection. So, we require two computers to work on a single cable line. But when I tried, only one at a time works. I want to know how the system is to be connected for both computers to work at a time? Should we have different user ID and different pass words? Or should we have one user ID and two different pass words? Can the experts suggest solution to my problem?
You do not need different user ID and different
passwords Or one user ID and two different passwords. You only need a
modem which have more than one lan ports.Lan port are the place where
you connect your pc .
One single cable connection can provide internet
connection for multiple devices. For that buy modem which will have more
than one port. I can suggest you D-Link modem which at a time you can
connect to 4 devices.
For connecting more than one pc on single connection
you just have to buy modem having more than two ports and just connect
these ports to your bsnl connection and others to your pc and laptop
from the ports of modem you can connect to broadband which yoi are
using on your pc to other pc or laptop.
other way is to one you have to make server and other client by
connecting modem to your pc and other laptop or pc .
But in this case you have to logged in from your server should necessary
Hello Sun, below are some ways to solve this problem:-
1. Use the modem with more than one LAN port and configure it by opening its web based Graphic User Interface in any browser that you use. Just enter its default IP in the browser and set it on DHCP mode. Default IP of the modem is written on its manual, generally it is 192.168.0.1. After this, make a connection, connect it and set it on always on mode. Now you can connect any computer on the LAN port of the modem. Internet will start working.
2. Use wireless modem with one or more LAN ports and configure it by using its manual.
3. Make a DHCP server with internet gateway and connect all the nodes in the LAN using that gateway server.
