Top 6 Google Adsense Mistakes Every Webhero/Blogger Must Avoid

Bloggers all over the world know that Google Adsense is the best advertising platform to make money with as it offers the highest revenue share for Publishers.

For this reason, every Blogger wants to get on the Google Adsense program thus making Google set up very strict policies and terms of service to keep everyone on their platform in check. Failure to adhere to these policies will end in account termination.

Most bloggers have lost their Google Adsense account for one reason or the other. Some are due to common Google Adsense mistakes some do both knowingly and unknowingly. In this post, I will outline some of the common Google Adsense mistakes bloggers do that violates Adsense policies and how to avoid them.

1. Using Paid web Traffic

Most Bloggers use paid traffic to increase their website traffic and Adsense revenue as well. This is a very big mistake and Google frowns on that as it is against their policies. Your Adsense account will be banned and your website blacklisted when you are caught using paid traffic.

If your website is blacklisted, you’ll not be able to run Adsense on it ever again as you’ll also lose your account forever once it is banned.

2. Generating invalid clicks

This is the common reason for which most bloggers lose their Adsense accounts. It is easy for me to make $50 or more a day on Adsense but some bloggers will struggle to make that in months. Out of frustration and sometimes greed, these bloggers tend to click on their own ads by changing their IP addresses with a VPN just to increase their revenue.

Google is too smart for this and will make you out very fast. They have systems in place that track every user and their interaction with the ads. That helps them to determine whether a user clicked on an ad out of interest or for the sake of clicking. Without question, Google will ban your account once you’re caught.

3. Making alterations to your Adsense code

Google doesn’t allow publishers to make alterations to their Adsense codes. You are required to use only the ad code given you when your create an ad for your site. Making changes to your code so it does what you want or behave in a certain manner will get you into trouble and you’ll get banned when caught.

4. Using your Adsense code on sites that do not follow Adsense policies

Once you get your Adsense code, you can use it on various websites. That notwithstanding, you have to use it on websites that follow Google Adsense policies. Using your code on websites that do not follow Adsense policies will get you banned. Such websites include websites that have very little content, porn sites, gambling sites or sites that are filled with copyright content such as torrent sites

5. Tricking people to click on ads

I have a friend of mine who got his account banned by tricking people to click on his ads. When asked how he did that, he told me that he placed a banner on the page that read “Click on the ad to see my nudes”. This caused his readers to click with the aim of seeing the nudes of a beautiful lady. He had lots of invalid clicks and that got his account banned as it violated Adsense policies.

No matter how bad you want to increase your Adsense revenue, don’t ever trick or force people to click your ads. You will end up losing everything.

6. Using Copyright Material

What Google loves is unique and original content. Google, therefore, frowns on websites that just copy and paste other people’s original content. If the Adsense teams find out you copy and paste people’s content, your domain will be blacklisted and you won’t be able to run Adsense ads on that domain.

To avoid this, try as much as possible to always publish original content. Even when you copy someone’s content, give all the necessary credits.
